Finally got a break in the weather with a warmer day but…. it was raining….

One of the biggest downfalls of being a Midwest photographer is the weather. The winters can be very cold and make it really hard to get good pictures. Katie and Steve did an awesome job and you could never tell it was well below zero the day their shoot was scheduled.

Some call them coffee table books, while others call them flush mount books. Whatever you call them, they are now available through Inskeep Photography.

I’ve been putting in a lot of time doing research and I’ve finally found the right books that I want to offer my clients. Through the process I’ve realized the hardest part is not having the book printed (which does take a lot of leg work), but a lot of time and skill goes into the design of the book. I’ve been working really hard on my design skills and I am turning out some wicked cool stuff now. I’ve got a groovy little slide show of Nate & Amanda’s Engagement shoot so check it out. Inskeep Photography has been undergoing a pretty good over-haul under the hood during the last month (reasoning for no recent posts).

I’ve decided that I was making everything too complicated. A different price sheet for each type of photography, complicated price lists, complicated work flow and unorganized, complex communication with clients. I finally got fed up with it and sent it out the window.

I’ve realized that I enjoy spending more time behind the camera and designing albums than I do “running” the business. I’ve streamlined my products that I offer and simplified my price sheets for services offered. The new price sheets are ready to go and the rest of the new products are on the way.

I’ll be posting pictures very soon of my new album designs as well as some good shots of my new flush mount coffee table books.

Lee’s shoot was some of the most fun I’ve had in a while. Lee has taken on some acting roles recently as a hobby and wants to invest some money and try to get some better roles. He left all creativity up to me and just said he wanted some good head shots.
